Web Sites

Seeing as I do web development for a living, I also run a few web sites for fun.
  • DVD Tracker - Lets you keep an online catalog/database of your DVD collection.
  • Warthog Territiry - Fan site for the A-10 Warthog. Tons of photos and an active message board.
  • Official Bruce Campbell Sound Library - If you've ever seen the Evil Dead movies, Army of Darkness or Brisco County Jr, then you know
  • who Bruce Campbell is. If not, well, I feel sorry for you.
  • Bargain Ammo - Lets you search for the cheapest prices on ammo. Unfortunately, the ammo retailers on the net don't want to use it. Too bad as it's a handy tool.
  • Pro-Gun Celebrities - The anti-gun celebs are numerous and well-known. The pro-gun celebs needed some help.
  • OrNotSpot - Lets you make your own "Am I ___ or Not?" site.

Videos

My friend Ryan and I bought a nice Sony VX-2000 Mini DV camera recently to have some fun making amateur movies, etc. This camera, coupled with Adobe Premiere and a Firewire connection, kicks ass! Here's some of the stuff we've done so far. Most of these are encoded with Divx, so you may need to install that if you run into problems playing the videos.
  • Thanksgiving 2002 - A short montage that I did of Thanksgiving at our house this year. (6MB)
  • Glock Detail Strip - An instructional video on how to detail strip a Glock pistol. Also includes some outtakes. (12MB)
  • You're Late! - I did some of the camera work, but this was mostly Ryan's production. Comedy, car chases, romance! (10MB)
  • A-10 Warthog Music Video - The A-10 is the most ass-kickingest plane in the USAF inventory. Made from clips digitzed from VHS tapes and set to Ride of the Valkyries, here is my tribute to it.
  • Gun Video - Just a short music video I made from some of the many gun videos I had sitting around on my hard drive.

Guns

Glock 17 - This was my first gun and I've had it since 1996. Over 15,000 rounds through it so far and it's an excellent firearm. I use this gun to compete in Action Pistol, a USPSA-style competition at a local range. I also have a Glock 22, which is essentially the same pistol but chambered in .40 S&W for a little more punch. The Glock 17 has been recently camo'ed.
Mossberg 500 - One of your no-frills 12-gauge pump-action shotguns. I have both the 28" and 18" barrels for it.
M1 Garand - Excellent condition with a Springfield Armory receiver manufactured in July 1944. Shooting one of these always puts a smile on my face. I've also been known to bump-fire mine on occasion. The M1 does my talking!
Mosin Nagant - The beefy 7.62x54R round it fires makes it kick like a mule, so I don't shoot it much. It was on sale at Big 5 for $50 and I had just seen Enemy at the Gates, so naturally it went home with me. This one happens to be a Romainian-made model produced in 1955.

All the following firearms were stolen from my garage.   :(
Ruger 22/45 - My handheld .22 caliber tack-driver. Great for kids and new shooters. Very accurate and inexpensive.
AR-15 - A.k.a The Black Rifle. This one happens to be an Olympic Arms PCR-99 with a 16" barrel. I recently replaced the standard pistol grip with a Cavalry Arms Ergo-Grip. I'm also going to replace the annoying muzzle break with one of their Cav Comps eventually.
1911 - An American classic. This is a Springfield Armory Milspec 1911 in .45 ACP. I've replaced the factory grip safety with a beavertail safety and also put in a new hammer.
M1 Carbine - This is the new ones produced by IMI. Unfortunately the sights are shot and it jams a lot, but it's still fun to shoot.
Marlin 795 - Nice little .22 semi-automatic rifle. Picked up this one for the kids and new shooters.
S&W 629 - Very similar to the .44 magnum used in the Dirty Harry movies, but reading Unintended Consequences was what prompted me get one of these. This one has a 6" ported barrel and it gives new meaning to the word "Bang"!
Springfield Loaded 1911A1 - Lots of goodies on this .45: Full-length guide rod, titanium firing pin, Novak night sights and adjustable trigger. ar15.com LEGP #4.

Woodworking

I just started getting into woodworking recently, so there's not much here yet.
  • Kleenex Box Holder -This was a birthday present for my mom. Made out of solid oak and finished with tung oil.
  • Range Cart - I started taking so much stuff to the shooting range that I had to build a cart to carry it all.
  • End Tables - The picture was taken early in the building process. This project is in the finishing stage - lots of polyurethane.
  • Dog House - It was starting to get into the rainy winter months, so Bear needed a dog house. Nothing fancy, but I did some half-lap joints, so it's kind-of woodworking.
